Privacy policy

2. The most important part first

This website sets no cookies and does not track you across other websites. Fonts are served from our own web space, not from Google. Personal data is processed during your visit in only two places: the server logs of our hosting provider (section 3) and, briefly, our privacy-friendly visitor count (section 4).

3. Hosting (GitHub Pages)

The website is served via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, GitHub processes technically necessary connection data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the page you came from (referrer). GitHub keeps this data in server logs to ensure the security and stability of the service.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely and efficiently (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is transferred to the USA; GitHub is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We ourselves have no access to these logs. Further information: GitHub's privacy statement.

4. Visitor counting (GoatCounter)

To find out how many people visit our pages and how they find us, we use GoatCounter, a service operated by Martin Tournoij (Ireland). When you open a page, your browser loads a small script from gc.zgo.at and sends a count to sevenfoxes.goatcounter.com. This transmits the page you visit, the previous page (referrer), browser and operating system, language, screen size and your IP address; the IP address is only used to determine your country. Screen size and language are not stored.

GoatCounter does not store IP addresses, sets no cookies and assigns no persistent identifiers. To avoid counting repeat views twice, a random session ID is derived from the site name, IP address and browser identifier; it stays in memory for at most eight hours and is not stored. Only aggregated statistics are stored (such as “12 visits from Germany on October 6”), which cannot be used to identify individuals. The servers are operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany and Finland.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the reach of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to the counting at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) – most easily by blocking scripts from gc.zgo.at and goatcounter.com in your browser or with a content blocker. 5. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your address and the content of your message in order to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Our mailbox is hosted by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 90441 Nuremberg, Germany. We delete the correspondence once the matter is settled and no statutory retention obligations apply.

6. External links

This website links to Apple's App Store and to Google's privacy information. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. Merely viewing our pages transmits no data to these providers.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). An email to kontakt@sevenfoxes.de is all it takes.

8. Changes

We will update this policy if the website or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this address.
